One thing we’re actively working on, and want to be upfront about, is a Youth Commissioners’ programme.
Action on climate and nature recovery has to include the people who’ll live with its consequences the longest — and that means genuinely bringing younger people into how decisions get made now, not just consulting them after the fact. We know that, and it’s why a Youth Commissioners’ strand has been part of the Commission’s ambition from early on.
It isn’t running yet. We’d rather be honest about that than imply otherwise, and we’d rather take the time to design it properly — in conversation with young people themselves — than launch something that’s youth-branded without being youth-led.
