We’re pleased to welcome you to the new home of the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Nature and Climate Commission online.
The Commission exists to do one thing well: bring people together. Councils, universities, businesses, the NHS, community groups and environmental organisations across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent all have a part to play in tackling the climate and nature emergency, but too often that work happens in isolation. The Commission was convened in the run-up to COP26 by a broad founding coalition spanning local government, academia, business and the environment sector, with the shared aim of accelerating climate and nature recovery through better connection and dialogue.
Since then, the Commission has grown into a network of around thirty member organisations, working together to accelerate action on climate and nature recovery — in a way that shares the benefits of change fairly and doesn’t leave any part of our community behind.
This website will be where we share that work: updates from across the Commission, news from our members, and practical ways for your organisation to get involved. Thank you for joining us.
