In November 2021, Keele University convened a panel of leaders in sustainability from across the county to discuss the COP26 and how it affects us.
Following that event , the leaders decided it wasn’t enough to just raise awareness and that decisive climate action needed to be taken to support our residents, communities and organisations in a safe and just green transition.
– Joan Walley, Former MP for Stoke
The Commission is following in the footsteps of other Climate Commissions across the UK which aim to bring together people from public, private and civic sectors to work collaboratively to drive forward climate action and nature recovery.
We are asking organisations to take part in our consultation to have their say on what they would like to see from the Commission, what the main issues are and how you may want to be involved in future. This survey is for organisations to share their views on the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Climate Commission. A second survey will be released later this year for individuals to share their views of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Climate Commission.
